The Calling is a rock band from Los Angeles, California. The group was formed by Alex Band (vocals) and Aaron Kamin (guitar).

After training, in 1999, the Band and Kamin were signed to a recording contract with RCA.

The convening of the first album was recorded from 1999-2001. As the advance team, Sean Woolstenhulme (guitars), Billy Mohler (bass) and Nate Wood (drums) have been added, as well as musicians tour the musicians and some songs were re-recorded. The convening of the first album Camino Palmero, was published in July 2001 and quickly became a success due to the strength of her single, “Wherever you will go,” first place in the final seconds of the first episode of the season television series, Smallville, Metamorphosis.

In June 2004, the group returned with two. The album had three singles and videos, “Our Lives,” “Things Go My Way” and “All”. With new musicians on tour, the group visited most of 2004 with the founding members Kamin only sporadic appearances. In July 2005, the group went on an indefinite break after playing a farewell show in Temecula, California. Alex Banda album, entitled – We’ve All Been There is slated for a 2nd quarter 2008 release. Alex and his new band have played occasional concerts in the United States and Brazil in 2008. The group performed at the University of Washington April 19 2008 for Springfest. He also appeared in the Towson University on April 26, 2008, at the annual reunion show Tigerfest . In addition to these concerts they have played in the celebration, Florida, October 10, 2008.
